Our Story
Rose & Drake started as a single stall at a village market — one loom, one carving bench, and a sign painted by hand because no one could afford a printer, or wanted one.
The name comes from what sat on either end of that first table: a basket of dried roses a grandmother had grown for forty years, and a small carved dragon a woodworker's apprentice made to pass the time between customers. Neither was for sale, and both were asked about more than anything that was.
These days the shop is a loose guild of makers rather than one workshop — a weaver in the hollow, a tinsmith by the ford, a candle-maker whose kitchen always smells faintly of lavender. Everything you'll find here is still made by a single pair of hands, start to finish, the same as it was at that first stall.
We keep small batches on purpose. A cloak takes as long as a cloak takes. A pendant is sanded until it feels right, not until a clock says it's done. If something is out of stock, it's because it hasn't been made yet — not because we're holding it back.
